At Encore, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our concert memory collection app.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, add concert memories, or contact us for support. This includes:
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, username, and profile photo
- Concert Data: Artists, venues, dates, ratings (0-10 scale), and notes
- User-Generated Content: Photos and videos you upload from concerts
- Social Data: Follow relationships, likes, comments, and bookmarks
- Location Data: City/state details you provide for concerts, plus optional precise location if you enable it
- Device Data: Push notification tokens for concert reminders
Third-Party Concert Data APIs
To provide you with comprehensive concert information, we use the following third-party services:
- Ticketmaster Discovery API: For concert event data and ticket information
- Setlist.fm API: For historical concert setlists and past performance data
- Spotify Web API: For artist information, images, and metadata
These services may collect their own data according to their privacy policies. We use only official APIs authorized by these providers:
We do not share your personal information with these services beyond what's required for API functionality.
Location Data
We collect two types of location information:
- City & State: Details you enter for concerts you attend. Used to show concert history, community stats, and discovery filters.
- Precise Location (optional): If you enable “Allow Location Services” in your profile, Encore requests device GPS once to recommend nearby concerts and improve discovery. We store the most recent latitude/longitude with a timestamp, and we do not track your background location.
You can disable location services anytime in your profile. We never sell location data and only share it when required by law or to provide core Encore functionality.
User-Generated Content
You may upload photos and videos of concerts to your profile. Please note:
- Content is stored securely on Firebase Storage
- You retain ownership of your content
- Content may be visible to other users based on your privacy settings
- We reserve the right to remove inappropriate content
- Maximum 10 photos/videos per concert
- Files are compressed to optimize storage and performance
- You can delete your content at any time from the app
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve our services
- Personalize your experience and recommend concerts
- Enable social features (following users, commenting, sharing)
- Send push notifications for concert reminders and social activity
- Generate statistics and rankings
- Communicate with you about your account
- Ensure platform security and prevent abuse
Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties without your consent, except as described in this policy. We may share information with:
- Service providers who assist us (Firebase, Expo)
- Other users based on your privacy settings
- Law enforcement if required by law
- Business partners with your explicit consent
Your concert data is visible to other users by default to enable social features, but you can make individual concerts private.
Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information:
- Data encrypted in transit and at rest
- Secure authentication with Firebase Auth
- Regular security audits and updates
- User-controlled privacy settings
- Secure API key management
- Protected cloud storage for media files
However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Update your profile data at any time
- Delete your account and associated data
- Control who can see your concert data
- Opt out of push notifications
- Export your concert history
- Request data correction or removal

Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account:
- Personal information is deleted within 30 days
- Some information may be retained for legal requirements
- Anonymous usage data may be retained for analytics
- Backup systems may retain data for up to 90 days
You can request immediate deletion by contacting us directly.
Push Notifications
We send push notifications for:
- Concert reminders (24 hours and 2 hours before)
- New followers and social interactions
- Comments and likes on your posts
- Friend activity for concerts you might enjoy
You can control notification preferences in the app Settings. Push notifications require an Expo push token stored in your user profile.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at rayphatton@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Posting the new policy on this page
- Updating the 'Last Updated' date
- Sending an in-app notification for material changes
Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
